The same quiet intention as its white counterpart — but darker, cooler, more resolved. Where IX asks, X states. The black-toned glaze absorbs light rather than reflecting it, giving this vase a sculptural presence that reads clearly from across a room and rewards closer inspection equally.

Narrow at the neck, it directs the eye to whatever is placed inside — or holds its own completely when left bare. Works in spaces where restraint is the dominant language: raw concrete walls, aged oak shelving, a desk kept deliberately spare.

One stem is enough. Sometimes none.

Hand-thrown on the wheel and glazed by hand in Carme Balada's studio, surface tone and texture vary between firings — the black may lean warmer or cooler, the surface more matte or with a slight depth. Each variation is its own piece.

Because every piece is made and glazed by hand, surface colour and texture will vary slightly between firings. What arrives is singular — a record of one specific moment in the kiln.
