The 23A is a pendant form with the proportions of a hanging lantern and the formal precision of a Noguchi sculpture — which is exactly what it is. Suspended from the ceiling, it occupies vertical space with a quiet authority that pendant lights made of metal or glass rarely achieve. The washi paper glows from within; the bamboo ribbing creates a shadow pattern on surrounding surfaces that shifts as the air moves.

Made by hand in Gifu, Japan, using the process Isamu Noguchi established in 1951. For dining tables that deserve better than a standard pendant.
