The 21A is among the most sculptural of the Akari forms — a piece that reads as a three-dimensional work of art in daylight and transforms into something entirely different once lit. The faceted washi paper construction creates a surface of planes and shadows that shift as you move around it; when illuminated, those same planes become luminous from within.
Made by hand in Gifu, Japan, following the process Isamu Noguchi established in 1951 and never revised. At €629, it is a significant piece — and one that earns its price the moment you see it in a room.
